Jeffries Electric Earns Coveted Angie’s List Super Service Award

Award reflects company’s consistently high level of customer service

Jeffries Electric has been awarded the prestigious 2010 Angie’s List Super Service Award, an honor bestowed annually on approximately 5 percent of all the companies rated on the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews on local service companies.

“Our Super Service Award winners are the cream of the crop when it comes to providing consistently high quality customer service, as judged by the customers who hired them,” said Angie Hicks, founder of Angie’s List.

David Jeffries credits the award to the employees. He says the dispatchers, office personnel and electricians all work as a team to deliver top quality service to all our customers. “We have the best team of people to serve the best customers.”

Angie’s List Super Service Award winners have met strict eligibility requirements including earning a minimum number of reports, an exemplary rating from their customers and abiding by Angie’s List operational guidelines.

Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie’s List, but members can find the 2010 Super Service Award logo next to company names in search results on AngiesList.com.

Voice of the Customer

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

We recently were called to attend a  conference in Dallas with a company we partner with to supply electrical service and repair.  Some of you know them by the big orange box and the words on their sign ” Home Depot”. More on this shortly.

Every time I buy something in a Home Depot store, I noticed the cashier gives me a receipt and asks me to go online for a chance to win something or a special offer. I must admit, I have not done this. When I have comments for the store, I usually find the store manager and tell them my comments. I found out there is more to this than I expected. This cash register receipt is also an invitation to an online survey of “How well did we serve you?

One stands out as a leader in energy

I work for 15 stores over the N. Texas area of Denton Co, Collin Co. , Dallas and Tarrant Co. As we are in these stores quite often, I often know these employees by their 1st name.  They sent us lots of great customers.

Seems that Home Depot is very interested in how their outside contractors treat their customers. They spent a lot of time and resources to check on all the different trades and ask lots of questions so that they will know how we perform.

The meeting  we were “invited ” to last month turned out to be more than we expected. We were awarded the top customer service score among our peers in the region.  The award is called the Voice of the Customer, or VOC.  I will quote the plaque we received from Home Depot citing our customers opinion.

Top Score is 10. There is still room for improvement, but I have to tell you, this award is for my dispatchers, office administrator, and electricians. They are the people that are the face of this company and the ones that do the yeoman’s share of work.

Congratulations to the Jeffries Electric Team for all the hard work and a job well done!

As I was writing this, I found out we were awarded a “Super Service” badge by Angie’s List. I will find out about this award and keep you up to date. I really do have a great team.

Electrician in Lewisville , Texas

Monday, December 6th, 2010

I did a search the other day on the Internet for an electrician in Lewisville. I found many companies I have never seen or heard of. Seems that if you type in enough names and descriptions on your website, the search engines will move your search ranking up quite high.

Here are some reasons to pick Jeffries Electric over the “OTHER” local company.

  1. We really are Local. We buy our material locally and we trade with other local businesses. Call Denton or Lewisville Chamber of Commerce or go to their website.
  2. You won’t be charged hefty ( and hidden ) fees for a truck to travel over an hour in traffic to get to Little Elm or Flower Mound.
  3. We strive to keep our advertising costs to a minimum. ( We know who really pays for the phone book ads ) You won’t see me on TV or hear me on the radio. I let my work and my customers prove the quality of our service.
  4. Your local charity’s are supported by the profits we make working in your neighborhood.  We have been working in Denton County since 1995.  We know who our neighbors and friends are and who needs our support.

Jeffries Electric is dispatched from Denton. We are your local Lewisville Electrician. I say that because I spent 2-3 days every  week working with local businesses and the local Chamber of Commerce.
From Lewisville I can get to Frisco or Grapevine or Carrollton in a few minutes. This is important because all the mileage and travel time is paid for by the customer. (you)
If someone tells you they do not charge for travel time and you tend to agree;  please call me.  I have a tooth fairy for sale at a great price. You can take one home with you wrapped in a pretty box with a bow. Don’t open the box though.
By being local, I can offer 20-30% better pricing than the contractors you see with big yellow page and red radio/tv ads.
Oh, by the way, the customer also pays for the tv and radio and 2 page phone book ads. This can easily cost $ 2 million or more each year. ( What to know how much your portion of these ads are?)

This is one way I can get a better position on my Search ranking. I use small words that you may or may not read. The Lewisville electrician, Flower Mound electrician and Coppell electrician tell the search engines where I would like to show up in the results. I also use Denton electrician, Plano electrician and Frisco electrician because I have so many customers in these areas that I have to keep a truck there everyday. I do some great landscape lighting and also we install a 200 amp panel that has a lifetime warranty. I can help you keep your family safe by replacing that old Federal panel and breakers. I can protect your appliances and tv’s with whole house surge protection. I do this because I have great customers. They know value and they are smart. Thanks to all of you.

Thanksgiving from the Turkey’s View

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Want to know whats so great about Turkey?         Ask a turkey.

So many ads and emails  about thanksgiving sales and charity needs and recipes. So many, that I hated to add to the clutter and the rush of the holidays.  This blog  title was just a ploy to get your attention. I really wanted to tell all of my readers ” Thank you”

I wanted to write a small post to let everyone know I wished them a Happy Thanksgiving.

When I started to think about all the aspects of Thanksgiving and the history of this holiday , I kept getting stuck on the perspective of the true meaning of giving thanks.  As I write, there are men in combat and men on the street without a home or food.  There are servants of our community and nation working 24/7.

I joined  the Army after High School. Most of my friends were stationed in Viet Nam.  I was posted to a lonely electronic listening outpost in a foreign land. I spent those holidays fighting a blizzard and the Cold War.  Wondering how the family was in Texas. Over the years I have never wandered far from the service industry. Fixing broken equipment seems like the right thing to do.

As a service provider, I am grateful for the work and opportunity to help you at your home or business., I know many people have emergencies during the holidays. I am thankful we can help.

As a consumer, I depend on electricity and water and heat every hour of everyday at my home and business.

Many is the day I have missed a Thanksgiving dinner or opening Christmas presents because a circuit breaker failed and a family was cold or dark. I remember these days and look back at the homes we were able to help or the business that needed lights and heat.

We all sacrifice for the good of our family and friends, and many sacrifice for the good of the country. I have many friends in foreign mission fields and they will not be home for the holidays.

So, If I may, I am so glad I have been able to help. I am really glad of the men and women taking my place today. They answer the phone with a smile and they leave their warm homes to come to your aid in cold and dark buildings. Rain and shine. Sleet and snow.

We give thanks that we are able to help you in times of need. My hope for the holidays and every late night call we take, is REMEMBER. And say ” Thanks” to the Men and Women that are willing to help you or others when  times of need arise,  when our country calls,  when a need is so evident and a person is cold and hungry.  Remember to share. It makes our country such a great place.

Oh, I think turkey is great.      As long as I’m not the turkey!

Jeffries Electric is proud to support the American way of life. We want you to be safe in your home and business. Our technicians are licensed and insured, but most of all; trained to deliver you a great service and product. We are your electrician in Denton, electrician in Flower Mound, electrician in Lewisville, and your electrician in Coppell. We install great landscape lighting and repair your GFCI outlets. Need a new circuit or recessed lights? We will be glad to add a plug or install a 200 amp panel. Arcfault breakers are now required in most towns if you add a circuit. Please replace your federal breakers and frayed cords. Both of these can be dangerous.

How much damage can a contractor do ?

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Have you hired a contractor in the past, and as soon as they set foot in the door you started to worry about your choice.

Everyone has made this mistake. Where do you turn when you are in your own home.
If you want to buy a car and the salesman turns you off, you just say thank you and walk away.
If the sofa is too expensive, do you say “I’m going to check some more prices.” and you leave.

  1. What do you do when the salesman is in your home.
  2. How do you retreat?
  3. How can you tell if this person is going to charge you too much?
  4. Is this person going to make a big mess?
  5. Is he/she selling me what I really need or want?

This is a common situation for many homeowners that have called a company out of the phone book and now they are very uncomfortable with their choice.

Your castle (your home) is your last line of defense and your place of refuge. Now you have someone in your home and you are very uncomfortable with this.

Do you trust the contractor in your home?

Be forthright and tell the contractor you have changed your mind. Firmly escort them to the exit and thank them for the time and travel they spent to come to your home. If there is a charge for the trip, pay them and be thankful you listened to your inner voice.

I promise, the small charge will be so much less than having someone in your home and second guessing everthing they tell you and everthing they do. Peace of mind is something you can not buy at any price.

Now, get online and go to Angie’s List or call a friend and ask about their experience if they have had the same work done recently. At the very least, pick up the phone and call Jeffries Electric. We will be glad to come out to your home ( if you live in our service area) and give you a quote or help you plan your project for new outlets or lights or any electrical problems.

Our technicians are licensed by the state and we have conducted multiple background checks. We know who is coming to your home or business and we have trained them help you , not push something you don’t need or sell some overpriced job.

We know how to act in your home and how to keep our work area clean. If you have special needs, we want to know so that we can help , and not be a bother. Our many years of service and thousands of customers have taught us how to bring great service and value to your home. Call now !

We are your Denton Electrician, Lewisville Electrician, Coppell electrician bringing you great service and value. Our many many years of expert service will ensure you get the best service at a fair price. We also install landscape lighting and whole house surge protectors. We do so much more than ceiling fans and new outlets
