The state of Texas requires all electrical work be performed by an Electrical Contractor. There are exceptions for farm work and State and local governments. The Texas Dept of License and Regulation oversees and regulates the licensing,insurance, continuing education, background checks, and work history of electricians and electrical contractors. At Jeffries Electric, we regularly review our employees licenses and training.

www.PowerToChoose.org is a good place to start when you are shopping for electricity. Most of Texas has the option to pick from different companies to buy their electricity.
Some areas are not under the de-Regulation and will have a single provider. The City of Denton and what used to be rural areas of Collin and Denton county are not de-Regulated. Also the City of Garland and Bryan.
